{"id":3239,"date":"2024-08-01T16:03:31","date_gmt":"2024-08-01T13:03:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bilim.gen.tr\/food-contact-material-testing\/gida-ile-temas-eden-cam-madde-ve-malzemeler\/"},"modified":"2026-08-13T09:44:05","modified_gmt":"2026-08-13T06:44:05","slug":"glass-food-contact-material-testing","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/bilim.gen.tr\/en\/food-contact-material-testing\/glass-food-contact-material-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"Glass Food Contact Material Testing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Specific Migration Analysis is the analysis performed to determine whether specific chemical substances contained in a food contact material (such as glass bottles, jars, drinking glasses, etc.) migrate into food, and if so, to determine the amount of migration.<\/p>\n<p>Although glass is generally considered an inert (non-reactive) material, additives used during the manufacturing process or metal oxides present in the composition of the glass (such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, aluminium, etc.) may pose a risk of migration into food.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy metals that may migrate from glass into food (particularly Pb \u2013 Lead and Cd \u2013 Cadmium) may have toxic effects.
