For this reason, specific migration analyses (migration of specific substances) are performed, and the results are used to assess whether the material is suitable for food contact applications.<\/p>\n<p>Heavy metals such as Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) can accumulate in the human body and may damage organs including the nervous system, kidneys, and liver. The migration of these substances into food may lead to serious health risks, particularly during long-term use.<\/p>\n<p>Under the Turkish Food Contact Materials and Articles Regulation and the applicable European legislation (Regulation (EC) No. 1935\/2004 and Directive 84\/500\/EEC), migration limits for Lead (Pb) and Cadmium (Cd) in ceramic articles have been established.
