Physical testing is carried out to verify compliance with the requirements and acceptance limits specified in the applicable standards for the finished product.<\/p>\n<p>The principal physical tests include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Appearance, color, odor, and unit count<\/li>\n<li>Dimensions and classification<\/li>\n<li>Unit, net, and total weight determination<\/li>\n<li>Absorption capacity<\/li>\n<li>Liquid retention capacity<\/li>\n<li>Tape and wing dimensions<\/li>\n<li>Leakage testing<\/li>\n<li>Absorbent core evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Absorption time<\/li>\n<li>pH determination<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Microbiological analysis is also an important criterion for ensuring the microbiological quality and stability of the manufacturer&#8217;s finished product for safe consumer use.<\/p>\n<p>For cosmetic products classified as <b>low microbiological risk<\/b>, where microbiological testing is not required (such as products with high or low pH values, products containing more than 20% alcohol, or products based on organic solvents), a scientific justification must be provided.<\/p>\n<p>According to the <b>Guideline on the Microbiological Control of Cosmetic Products<\/b> published by the <b>Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TITCK)<\/b>, the following microorganisms must be evaluated:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Total Aerobic Mesophilic Bacterial Count<\/li>\n<li>Yeast and Mold Count<\/li>\n<li><i>Pseudomonas aeruginosa<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Staphylococcus aureus<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Escherichia coli<\/i><\/li>\n<li><i>Candida albicans<\/i><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Acceptance Criteria for Finished Products<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Category 1:<\/b> Products intended for children under 3 years of age, products intended for the eye area, products applied to mucous membranes, and leave-on products.<\/li>\n<li><b>Category 2:<\/b> Other cosmetic products, including rinse-off products.<\/li>\n<li><b>Category 1:<\/b> The total count of viable aerobic mesophilic microorganisms (bacteria, yeasts, and molds) shall not exceed <b>100 cfu\/g<\/b> or <b>100 cfu\/mL<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li><b>Category 2:<\/b> The total count of viable aerobic mesophilic microorganisms shall not exceed <b>1,000 cfu\/g<\/b> or <b>1,000 cfu\/mL<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><i>Pseudomonas aeruginosa<\/i>, <i>Staphylococcus aureus<\/i>, <i>Escherichia coli<\/i>, and <i>Candida albicans<\/i> are designated as the principal potential pathogens in cosmetic products.
