GMO-Free Cosmetic Products

The Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (TİTCK) specifies the requirements for natural and organic cosmetic products in the Guideline on Claims for Natural and Organic Cosmetic Ingredients and Products (Version 2.0).

One of the key requirements is that natural and organic cosmetic products must not contain genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Section 5.13 of the guideline clearly states that ingredients derived from genetically modified microorganisms (GMOs) must not be used in these products. Therefore, cosmetics marketed as natural or organic should be free from GMOs, and this claim should be supported by a GMO analysis report.
