Today, food adulteration and fraud in meat and meat products pose a significant threat to human health, food quality, and food safety. Histological Tissue Analysis is the microscopic examination performed to identify the presence of unexpected animal tissues in a product other than the animal tissue declared on the label.
The Turkish Food Codex clearly states that no animal tissues other than muscle and fat tissue should be present in meat and meat products.
As the first private food control laboratory authorised to perform Histological Tissue Analysis, our laboratory provides this service within the scope of its TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation. We detect food adulteration by identifying foreign tissues such as gizzard, kidney, skin, and other internal organs, as well as horn, hair, and hoof tissues added to meat and meat products.
