Vegan Claim Verification

Animal DNA detection analyses are important in the food industry for product verification and labelling, the identification of contamination or mislabelling from a food safety perspective, and informing consumers in accordance with religious and cultural requirements.

For vegan products, Animal DNA Detection analysis is performed to determine whether the product contains ingredients of animal origin and to detect any contamination that may occur during the production process. In our laboratory, this analysis is performed on all food and feed products using nationally and internationally recognised analytical methods, in accordance with the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard. Animal mitochondrial DNA belonging to classes such as mammals, birds, fish, insects, and molluscs is detected by the PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) method.
